Summit Guides continue to strive to be the UK’s premier small group specialist, delivering climbing & mountaineering courses in the UK and expeditions worldwide.
OUR STORY: Summit Guides (formerly ‘Mountain Tom') was founded in 2012 by Mountaineering & Climbing Instructor Tom Lawfield. Tom’s aim was simple – to provide exceptional small group climbing courses and expeditions.
Tom began by delivering mountain walking courses in both summer and winter - from these humble beginnings, Summit Guides grew to include climbing & mountaineering courses – in Snowdonia, on the Cuillin Ridge of Skye, and in winter on the West coast of Scotland.
More recently, we have expanded our programme to overseas expeditions, with successful ascents of Aconcagua (6962m), Elbrus (5642m), Mera Peak (6461m), Island Peak (6189m) and Toubkal (4167m), while still retaining the emphasis on unique itineraries and small teams.
The change of company name to Summit Guides in 2021 seemed a natural progression – to reflect the addition of a number of industry-leading guides and instructors keen to be part of a fresh, growing team of psyched climbers, mountaineers, and skiers.
