What will I get from the course?
The aim of this course will be to build the skills so that you are an effective team member on your expedition.
Both days will be spent on the hill, and the focus will be on fun, practical learning.
An expedition-specific briefing will take place on the Saturday night, where we have an in-depth look at your expedition itinerary by a Summit Guides Leader who has extensive experience of the mountain, an overview of the kit you will need for your trip, and an altitude briefing. There will be plenty of time to ask questions!
Can be run in Scottish winter to develop crampon/ice axe techniques.
Technical skills of crevasse rescue and fixed lines depending on the requirements of your trip.
We aim to cover lots of graded mountaineering ground.
Meet your fellow team members and start to bond as a team – so you hit the ground running in country.
Personal debrief for what you need to do between the training weekend and your expedition.
